Background

In the past 10 years, rapid economic development in the region resulted in an increasing volume of commercial and industrial waste. The quantity of non-hazardous Thai waste is approximately 3 million tons per year or to the equivalent of 8,333 tons per day and tends to increase by 5 % every year. This trend signals the significant increase in wastes and considerably raises environmental awareness among people in the country. The government has continuously supported the escalating environmental concerns through regulations and education for private and public sectors. To effectively implement these regulations, both hazardous and non-hazardous wastes must also be managed by companies or organizations that have expertise in these areas to ensure the safety of all parties. To elevate waste disposal services in Thailand to meet or exceed international standards, WMS was founded in 1999 focusing on providing professional waste collection, treatment and disposal services in various locations around the country. In 2000, WMS opened its first project named Eastern Seaboard Environmental Complex (ESBEC), the first facility and fully licensed and permitted non-hazardous waste disposal site in Thailand. In 2004, WMS entered into an agreement with Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) to construct one of the most technologically advanced waste disposal projects in Thailand’s history. The facility is located in the Bangpoo Industrial Estate, and constructively utilizes factory waste to produce steam using advanced clean air technologies. Beside waste disposal facilities in Thailand, WMS own transportation center in Songkhla province and Lad Krabang area to provide national coverage and responsive service to customers across Thailand.
